Goings On at the Corner House

Tim:
I am really proud of Tim these days. He has earned a promotion at work, showed enormous amounts of love towards his family, given countless hours of service, managed to make me smile everyday this last week and made our Christmas this year so magical. He is a great dad, amazing husband and a good friend. He loves his truck more than ever these days because how it preformed during the storm. He started doing the grocery shopping awhile back and it has been awesome! (for me at least!) Claire loves it too, because she gets way more treats and goodies. :) He is itching to go skiing, but I think he is even more excited to go golfing in spring.

Claire:
Tim and I have both loved watching Claire grow up. I wonder everyday what she will be like as a teenager and adult. I hope she will be kind, respectful, funny and good. We'll see. She is in a ballet class right now and is really loving it. Her big recital is in May and she gets to be a clown fish! She starts swimming lessons in a couple weeks and is excited to learn how to swim like her friend Lily. She loves her brother, reads like a champ and is starting to draw self portraits everywhere. She draws our family a lot too. Tim always has curly hair (tons of circles on his head), I always have two straight lines on each side of my head and Charlie always has short spiky hair. I framed one her family drawings for Tim for Christmas. He loved it. She starts Kindergarten in the fall, so we have been researching schools for her. She is saying funny things all the time. Last night she joined my conversation with Charlie...
(Scene: In the car, oooing and ahhhing at the Christmas lights.)
Me: Charlie, just wait, we are going to Temple Square to see the lights. It's going to blow your mind!
Claire: Yeah, Charlie, it is going to break your ears and break your heart! It is going to be UNBELIEVABLE!
Me: Ha! Claire you are right, is IS going to be unbelievable!
Charlie: Ah-Da!

Charlie:
He is walking! (see post below) He is taking steps everyday now. I am so happy because he is getting way too heavy to carry around. He loves: playing on the couch, anything that can be pushed or scooted on the ground, his blankets, chips (just like his dad!), drinking from a straw (it's the only way I can get him to drink milk), putting on other people's shoes, clapping, saying two things - ah-da and mum, roaring like a dinosaur, roaring like a cow, roaring like a chicken, snuggling and eating things off the floor. He is loosing his "baby-ness" and starting to look like a toddler. He still doesn't have much hair, hopefully it will start growing soon.

Emily:
I am still working part-time at my office in Salt Lake and really enjoying it. I like to get away for a couple of hours each day and use a different part of brain! I work with great people and that makes all the difference. It's almost been a year since I went back, but I am still trying to learn how to balance it all. I have great family and friend support and really couldn't do it without them. I am still teaching music to the children at church, February will be two years. I really love doing it, but the best thing about it by far is the random hugs I get from the children at the park or the store! There is nothing like it. I read lots of books to my kids, do lots of laundry and have lots of dance parties with Claire in the loving room. I look forward to spring so I can get back out in my yard and start digging!

2011 has been good to us, but I am excited for 2012. I am excited to start fresh, set goals and grow as a family.
