As many of you know, my husband is from North Carolina. So, for years we have visited that great state when we would go see his parents. But, this last spring, that all changed. Tim's parents, now retired, packed their bags and moved to Idaho. This doesn't come as a shock to us, Tim's dad grew up there, they started their family there, they love it there. (JR more than Lib, I think.) We love it too! They are now so close!
We took a little vacation up there this past weekend to see the new house, visit and let Claire get to know them better. It was great. Thanks Papa and Macca (that's what Claire calls Tim's mom) for a really fun time.
We played in the backyard, jumped on the bed, went to a real farmer's market, got the most delicious ice cream at a dairy farm, looked at horses, cows and potatoes, read books, pushed strollers, rocked in the rocking chair, ran through the sprinklers, went to the park, went to a movie and went here:
Tautphaus Park Funland

It was so awesome! Lib said it was around when here first kids were small, that was in the 1960s! The rides were old and rickety, the paint pealing off everywhere. She said it hasn't changed. Not very many people were there, they only had 3 people working the whole area. Granted there were only 4 rides, a mini golf course, an arcade and a snack bar, but still! The artistic side of me was going crazy! The hand-painted signs, the weird, almost scary looking horses, giant fabricated bunnies greeting you as you walked into the mini golf course... I was looking more at everything around me than paying attention to Claire! Tim's family must of thought I was nuts, I took photos of everything! Claire rode the train once and the merry-go-round 3 times. She was loving her life! Glad we went there, it was great. Something I will never forget!

What a fun place. Sad to hear though they moved from the east coast - my parents did the same thing from VA to New Mexico to be closer to the majority of the grandkids.
I am so glad you guys had a blast!
