Yard Craziness: Sprinkler Excavation

Tim and I have been planning big things for our yard ever since we've moved into our little home. We've ripped out lilacs and quince bushes, created new flower/shrub beds, planted beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers and killed nasty witch grass. Now we are on to sprinkler excavation. Because of the new flowerbeds and shape of our lawn, the old sprinkler system just doesn't cut it anymore. Tim has been drawing plans all winter (he worked on the sprinkler crew at Rick's) and is ready to start ripping them out and replacing them.

We started on the back lawn this last weekend and hope to finish it soon. Both Tim and Claire had a ball chaining up the sprinkler pipe to the back of the truck and ripping them out. Of course I took lots of photos of Claire... not so many of Tim and the truck. Sorry honey, that is just the way it goes.

PS- Claire took a fall the day before these photos were taken and scraped up her knee. I guess she is a real kid now with band-aids and all!
