Hair, it always grows back, right?

I am sure you have all had this experience, a bad hair cut. Well, I have had many, but this one tops it all. So, the other I decided to go on a walk to sweet little old downtown Bountiful to get my hair cut. I live just west of Main Street (I love it, by the way!), so bundled Claire up and headed out the door. There are a bunch of little salons on Main Street, so I just picked the one that looked the most promising. There were a bunch of people, smiling, laughing, manicuring and haircutting. I thought, perfect, it must be a great place. I walked in and scheduled an appointment for later that afternoon, and for the first time ever, scheduled it with a male hairstylist. On all the makeover shows, it is always a man who cuts the hair, and he always does a fabulous job. So, needless to say, I was way excited. I knew I wasn't going to get New York quality, but I still thought I would walk away with a great cut.

I finally sit down in the chair (Claire was an angel, she slept the whole time) and proceeded to tell him kind of what I wanted. Really simple, straight blunt cut just below the chin. Easy, right? I really thought things were going well, he seemed to be doing all the right things. He finishes the cut and blows it out and it looked fine.

I work from home so there are many days where I don't really ever get ready. I shower and run a comb through my hair, if that. So, on Sunday (3 days after the cut) I get up and get ready for church to discover that he totally missed a section of hair underneath. It was at least 3/4 inch longer than the rest of the hair around it. I was a little shocked, but said, whatever I will just cut it this off myself, no big deal. Tuesday, I woke up and got ready to go into the office. I did my hair different than on Sunday, so I noticed that one side was way longer than the other. A little frustrated, I evened out the side. No big deal, whatever. Wednesday, I had to go into the office again for a meeting, and yup, you guessed it, yet another uneven discovery. This time, it was in the back. I had a mini mullet. My hair came to a point.

I usually don't get that upset over things like this, but I paid a decent amount of money for this cut, and money is scarce right now. Plus, I thought I was going to get a fabulous cut, from a male hairstylist no less! Anyway, I am going to let it grow little so next weekend I can go and it fixed. Does anyone know of a great place? Help!

I would go back and make him fix it...unless you are too afraid of what he'd do. Yikes. I'm sorry. That stinks. I haven't really found anywhere that I love, and everywhere is so expensive. Good luck!

Hey Em! Sorry about the hair, I am sure you still look beautiful. Heath and I decided to do a blog to stay up on all the info with both families! Love you.

First of all, let me comiserate. I have had some AWFUL haircuts. I swear not one person in Ohio knows how to cut hair! Second of all, I don't know if you'd feel like coming all the way down here, but the girl who does my hair is a good friend of Sara's, and is AWESOME. She is so good--she does exactly what I want. Everytime I leave the salon I am just SO happy and she is also a good price. Let me know if you want her number.
